Our Story

It Started in the Backyard

IMBY started with a small frustration: why do the best flavours always come from somewhere else? South Africa grows some of the most extraordinary botanicals on earth — buchu in the Cape fynbos, hibiscus in every suburban garden, lemons sharp enough to make you blink — and yet the sodas on the shelf still taste imported.

So we made our own. In our backyard. With whatever was in season. The name stuck because the idea is the name: the good stuff is already here. It always has been.
